Meezus PDF Print E-mail

MeezusMeezus, or Mazen, whichever you prefer is debatably a Lebanese person. He also happens to play music. He likes to call himself a jack of all instruments master of none, however his main passion remain with the axe - guitar mind you.

He likes to think of himself as a global citizens although he's only lived in 5 countries so far. We all think it’s a Sagittarian thing and we try to pretend that we understand :)

Meezus started exploring his music passion early by stretching his vocals and putting them to the test. Having studied for a year in Jordan and failing to form a savatage tribute band there, he decided to pick up the guitar and do it himself.

Progressed naturally from classical to acoustic to electric, Mazen loves his Rock and Metal; Keeping thrash above all mind you - he does not seem to realize the genre is almost instinct, however avoid mentioning that in front of him.

Meezus also likes his classical musical and cannot help but adore ethnic / zen tunes.

Having moved back to Lebanon at some point he finally succeeded in forming his first official band, Paragons, however realizing that the real assets were his mates who've become his best friends for life - which naturally lead to all of them finding excuses to quit the band and each do music on his own, you know, the usual Lebanese reasons; army service, university, masters, financials, and work. You thought I was going to say war, haven't you? Gotcha.

Meezus have had a couple of successful original, home recorded tracks amongst friends and families and exterior circles to a certain level. This fueled him up and kept him going on. These tracks vary from trippy to heavy to zen.

At one interesting point, two members of Paragons, Meezus and Laws, home-recorded a twosome album which goes by the same name "Twosome". One of the tracks in the album won the "First original song competition" in Lebanon organized by SynthPhonic Studios.

Meezus moved out of Lebanon again and spend a couple of months in a couple of countries in the region eventually leading him in a serious move and a decision to settle down in Dubai.

After pausing for two years, and running out of excuses basically, Meezus - thanks to Paz - returned to doing what he likes best. Playing music.
